This book by Eckhart Tolle is a guide for day to day living that helps the reader work through daily stressors and anxieties.

2. Wherever You Go, There You Are

Written by Jon Kabat-Zinn, this book is meant for all levels of meditative practitioners and is a guide to procuring mindfulness in all corners of your life.

3. Wheels of Life

Wheels of Life by Anodea Judith is a great resource centered around describing and using the chakras to discover more about yourself.

We can't make this list without the yogi’s go-to guide by B.K.S. Iyengar, with its pages and pages of meditation techniques and discussions of the eight-limb path.

5. Mindfulness in Plain English

This book is written by a monk called Bhante Gunaratana. It walks us simply through the meaning and philosophies of mindfulness without too many religious undertones.

The Art of Happiness from the Dalai Lama is a book that has inspired many people to change how they approach their lives, adding in mindfulness to each step. Dubbed as life-changing, this book is worth curling up with.

An oldie but a goodie- this how to guide to meditation by Ram Dass is filled to the brim with advice on how to overcome obstacles in your meditation practice along with techniques that vary from mantras, visualizations, singing and movement all the way to simply sitting quietly.

In this book, Shakti Gawain describes how to use visualizations to sink deeper into your meditation practice and why they're so effective.

This book by Melody Beattie is just that, a book of daily intentions that reflect directly on self-awareness, attachment and acceptance all in the hopes of aiding us in the challenges of letting go of that which doesn’t serve us.
