5 Cool Yoga YouTube Videos To Inspire Your Practice

Yoga | Yoga for Beginners

YouTube is an awesome resource for yogis (for pretty much everyone, actually) and I often spend hours just browsing through all the cool yoga stuff there. Thus, I thought I’d compile a selection of some videos that I’ve enjoyed recently. The following five videos are a random collection of awesome, amazing or just plain interesting perspectives on the wonderful practice of yoga.

The Yoga Lifestyle with Kino MacGregor

Have you ever wondered about the deeper philosophy behind yoga? This video by the awesome Kino MacGregor gives a brief summary of the spiritual practice of yoga that offers insight to those ready to make the next step into the yogic lifestyle, as well as information to those who are simply curious. Watch this to learn a little more about the practice you already love!

Yoga for Stress Relief

As the new year starts, it may become more difficult to stay in the present moment, as stress surrounds us. This video is a directed short session focused on stress relief. The beautiful setting of the video and the calming guidance of the teacher are sure to make your holiday season a little more relaxed! Plus, at only about thirteen minutes long, it’s a great way to make time for your yoga practice, without taking too much time out of your busy schedule.

Acro Yoga by Equinox

Acro yoga has always been a wonder to me, and this video is an incredible example of why. Not only is this one of the most amazing displays of strength and balance that I have ever seen in my life, but it is also a beautiful demonstration of how artistic and fluid yoga can be. When you watch this video, you will be in complete awe of the amazing ability these two people (namely Briohny Smyth and her husband Dice Iida-Klein) have to connect with both their own bodies and each others’.

Hard Poses Made Easy With Tara Stiles

Advanced yoga poses can be scary to try in a class setting. Sometimes, when your muscles are tired from a class full of intense flows, they can seem even more daunting. This video by Tara Stiles will give you tips to try new yoga poses at home, with focused commentary and demonstrations to help you learn the difficult new asanas. It will teach you about Crow, Side crow, Half moon, Twisted half moon, Dancer, and Bird of paradise. Speaking of Tara Stiles. We just recently interview the super duper cool Heidi Kristoffer (who teaches at Tara’s Studio “Strala” in New York). Check out the interview here.

Paddle Board Yoga by Equinox

Another Equinox video! Paddleboard yoga is one of the yoga world’s latest fads. If you thought balancing on your yoga mat was hard, try balancing on the water! Watch this video to see how paddleboard yoga can help you take your practice to the next level by challenging your balance and your focus.
