This Self-Rolling Yoga Mat Combines Yoga and ’90s Nostalgia

Yoga | Yoga Equipment

Remember those slap bracelets that were crazy popular in the '90s? It's making a comeback, but not on your wrist —you'll get the snap feature in the form of your yoga mat.

Yoga enthusiast Aaron Thornton wanted to find an easier way to roll up and store yoga mats without them unrolling or falling out of bags. So Aaron, along with co-founder Dino May and creative director Yu Tsai, started working on creating the world's first self-rolling yoga mat using the slap bracelet technology.

What does this mean?

Basically, once Savasana is over, all you have to do is pick up your mat and the metal strip at the edge will "snap" and make the whole thing roll up tight on itself.

The mat has dual layers made from TPE, is 5.5mm thick, 72” long and 28" wide, and comes in four color combinations. Here's a video that shows how it works:

The YoYo mats aren't available yet, but based on the progress of their Kickstarter campaign (they're 90 percent funded as of writing), it looks like it won't be long 'til you can get your hands on these self-rolling yoga mats.

What do you think? Is this something you'd be willing to buy and try, or are you perfectly a-okay with your current non-snap mats? Sound off in the comments below!
