That awkward moment when, after a long night out you wake up at noon with the pattern of your sheets stamped into your face and eyeliner smudged across your forehead (how’d that happen?!). Maybe it was too many drinks, or maybe you’re just in a post food coma daze and are too fuzzy to make it to the yoga studio.

I’m here for all you Bad Yogis suffering from a late, tipsy night out. Here are some yoga moves you can do in the comfort of your living room (and PJs) to beat those hangover blahs.

1. Start with any type of twist.

My favorite ones are lying Supine Twists. Begin lying on your back with the knees over the hips at a 90-degree angle. Extend arms out at the sides like a “T.” Gently let the knees drop to one side, while keeping the chest open. Bring your gaze down the opposite arm and take 8 to 10 breaths.

Repeat the twist to the other side. Any type of twist encourages detox in the body by literally wringing out the digestive organs and getting things moving. They’re also greatly restorative, so feel free to hang out here as long as you like!

2. Down Dog: Begin on the hands and knees.

Tuck the toes under and gradually begin to lift the tailbone towards the sky as you straighten the legs. Press into the palms of the hands, keeping the spine long and arms straight. Try to keep the ears in line with the elbows and the naval drawn in towards the spine.

This one is great for so many reasons, one of which is because it really stimulates the circulatory system. Blood moves oxygen through the cells and helps carry away waste and other toxins. And bonus! Keep wrinkles away with this pose, too.

3. On the topic of detox, let’s talk sweat!

There’s no better way to cleanse your system than to sweat it out. Take 8 to 10 basic Sun Salutations at a comfortable pace and move with your breath. Take one breath with each movement. The series below is Surya Namaskar A and is great for yogis of any level.
