Yoga clothes, props, and gear now come in all sorts of shapes and designs. And while yoga mats are now also becoming more and more diverse (cork yoga mat, anyone?), this company in Philly is throwing in another element to the mix: visual and street art.
If you want a more "visually inspired" mat to take a break from your usual, solid-colored options, check out Spiritual Revolution's graffiti and skateboard art-inspired yoga mats.
Spiritual Revolution was founded by Holly Rogers and her mom, Jane, in the hopes of bringing beautiful, eco-friendly, expressive yoga mats to the community. Jane has always been inspired by Impressionist art and nature, while Holly was inspired by skateboard art.
They're joined by five other artists looking to bring you yoga mats that combine functionality and creative, visual art. As they put it:
Our vision is simple: put amazing, gallery-quality artwork on eco-friendly yoga mats. Our images are one-of-a-kind. They look just as good hanging on your living room wall as they do under your feet in Warrior III.
They currently offer 10 different mat designs, styled and painted using water-based inks. According to their website, the mats are all "100% biodegradable, recyclable, eco-friendly, [!has!] natural tree rubber base, bonded to an ultra-absorbent suede cloth top that increases grip as you sweat."
They also offer these stylish yoga mats for kids in "Tiny Turtle" and "Rainbow Rider" designs, so your little one can combine play and practice in their yoga.
Now, we can't vouch for how these beautiful yoga mats fare when it comes to functionality (thickness, grip, etc.) because we haven't tried them, but we have to say—these are some of the most creative mat designs we've seen so far.
What do you think? Would you use these stylish yoga mats for your daily practice? Sound off in the comments below!
